Overlooking the Parthenon, our all-time favourite Buena Vista Social Bar is relaxed, exotic and bold with solid foundations in the bar and in the kitchen.
As you turn left from Ermou to walk alongside Agios Philippou street, you are left with your jaw open momentarily, by the wow effect of its entrance, as you literally enter another world. A world of staged creativity, technicolor, with a charming illumination that exudes a mysterious, sensual aura.
At this point you’ve already realised that we are talking about something special. A few steps up, another universe unfolds before your eyes: Spectacular, iconic, relaxed, with an upbeat mood and up-tempo music that prompts you to get up from your table and start dancing, Buena Vista Social Bar is the definition of an all-day place, since every hour in the day, it gives you one (or more) reasons to explore it.
The mornings reflect its calm and sweet personality: specialty coffee from selected blends and delicious comfort food and brunch inspired by Latin America. On the other hand, the nights make a case of raising lots of… signature cocktails, with a list that loves tequila and rum, utilizing them in various inventive combinations, with ideas and colors that evoke the spirit of holidays in your soul.
A very interesting choice is the Puta Madre, with super premium Altos Plata: it combines the heavy character of tequila with blue agave, lifted by pineapple and forest fruit puree, with a spicy aftertaste from an excellent homemade chilli syrup. The Buena Siesta is another cocktail you should try. This is a robust and quite sweet and sour glass, with Altos Reposado and a nice balance of yuzu and watermelon puree that closes with freshly squeezed lime.
The highballs on the food menu include voluptuous tacos such as the Libre with slow cooked tantalizing beef, crispy onion and chimichuri or the Fidel with grilled shrimp flavored with a spice blend, handmade carrot pickle, slices of fresh avocado and mayo mango sauce. Out of the box suggestions that encourage carefree snacking (and evoke sighs of pleasure).
