Galati is a terribly autonomous area. So you can, if you want, never go outside its boundaries and never miss anything. This is of course – above all – thanks to these nice places, which are just a short walk from your home or work, always lively and active and always there to delight you with something nice on your plate or in your glass every moment of the day. A prime example is Chloé.
The idea of his team was to create an all day space with a unique aesthetic that will become a destination for aromatic specialty coffee, excellent brunch, sophisticated and quality food, for evening cocktails that become impromptu parties, so intimate that it almost makes you want to take off your shoes, squat in its comfortable chairs, take a cup of coffee in your hand and lose track of time in front of the fireplace, as if you were a guest in a friend’s house.
Entering, you discover the world of “Chloé”: on the right a mural depicting her, in the centre a beautiful bar, a small dining table “sitting” on a classic carpet, further back a sherwan, a romantic hooded aesthetic and “warmth” in just a few square metres. You immediately realise the attention to detail, the love that has been put into everything, Chloé is a shop made by people for people.
The menu is the quintessence of comfort food, starting from the breakfast with eggs in various versions, from the exuberant, hearty and delicious English Breakfast with fried eggs, bacon, sausage, confit cherry tomatoes, a delicious handmade tomato jam and butter, to “classic values” such as Croque Madame on a bagel bun, with prosciutto, fried egg and velvety, warm Parmesan cream, like a hug.
The charismatic chef Christos Bitsakis takes his dynamic to the main courses: his burgers for example are from another planet, with handmade 100% beef burger, breaded chicken or even pulled pork that is stoically braised for 16 hours, the pinsa are made with fluffy dough and premium ingredients and are simply epic.
But it also offers signature cocktails that “stay” – from a list curated by Fotis Kouletos – which are guaranteed to make you want to make another appointment at number 1 of Letous Street: the intriguing Chloé is a must try, with Poliakov vodka, lime, cinnamon and passion fruits, as is the playful Fiancee, with Edgar Sopper gin, caraway syrup and mint bubbles.
Come with your laptop in the mornings for the Kudu coffee (accompanied by a stuffed choux with chocolate and handmade cake!), come for aperitivo and wine (from a list of 10+ Greek vineyard labels), come in the evening for the music, played at levels that encourage conversation. But also come for the RnB or Greek parties with DJs that will get you up to get up from your table and dance. So come because you’ll just love it!
